All about Jenna Lyons

If you own a sweater, or pencil skirt or pair of oxfords from J.Crew, you have already been acquainted with Jenna Lyons, even if you don't know her by name.
The creative director and president of J.Crew, who is currently going through a messy divorce, is credited with developing the retail behemoth's preppy-yet-offbeat aesthetic. In recent years, Lyons has become a style personality, the antidote to the Alexander McQueens and Lady Gagas of the world, known for mixing basics with the subtly quirky.

Women deeply identify with the laid-back, 6-foot-5 creative director and have increasingly been interested in the minutiae of her life. In 2008, J.Crew sought to take advantage of Lyons' appealing personality by creating "Jenna's Picks," a section in their catalogues dedicated to her favorite items.




Lyons has appeared in magazines like Glamour, InStyle and Lucky and has even been on "Oprah" in a segment filmed in her closet. Forbes magazine said that she reached "icon status comparable to the likes of superstar designers like Donna Karan and Miuccia Prada."
Lyons' family life has long been part of her story. She married artist Vincent Mazeau in 2002 in a ceremony that was covered in New York magazine.




"Vincent and I envisioned a black-tie barbecue for our wedding," Lyons said alongside photos of her in an easy, breezy wedding dress and Mazeau in a kilt.
The couple's townhouse in Park Slope has been frequently photographed, and become an object of lust for many a New Yorker. "My trick has been to approach each area like putting together an outfit," Lyons told Living Etc. "You might start with an old pair of jeans, a cashmere cardigan, or a floral belt, and work around that central fashion statement."
Earlier this year, Mazeau shot photos of Lyons and their son Beckett, 5, around the house for a J.Crew feature called "Saturday with Jenna." One of the images showed Lyons' painting her son's toes hot pink. A scandal erupted, with newscasters dissecting the image and claiming Lyons was sending confusing gender messages to her son. Jon Stewart jokingly dubbed the incident "Toemaggedon."




"I’m not surprised that [Beckett] was interested in what I was doing," Lyons told New York magazine. "My God, my toes went from white to hot pink — it was very exciting."
Originally from Palos Verdes, Calif., Lyons came to New York in 1987 to study at Parsons. In 1990, she started at J.Crew -- then a small upstart. By 2007, she had worked her way up to creative director. In 2009 she earned $750,000 and was given bonuses and benefits bringing her total pay to $4.2 million, according to reports. Last year, she was named company president.

Earlier today, Page Six reported that Lyons and Mazeau split this summer, and that divorce proceedings are getting contentious. Mazeau is seeking custody of Beckett, as well as the couple's townhouse and a large settlement, arguing that he put the breaks on his career to stay home with their son. Meanwhile, Lyons friends say she supported his career and gave him a financially comfortable life. Lyons is reportedly in love again, this time with a woman.

Rihanna Named Esquire's Sexiest Woman Alive

Emma Stone, Beyoncé and Mila Kunis have nothing on Rihanna. The editors of Esquire magazine have named the singer the Sexiest Woman Alive.




The mag's photos of the Talk That Talk singer are certainly sexy: She appears on the cover completely nude. In fact, she appears in many of the pics completely nude. But she claims she's not that aware of her sexuality.




"At the end of a concert, I don't feel like I've been this sexy thing," Rihanna told the magazine about how she feels after her seemingly sexy stage show. "Really, I don't even think about it."




The November cover girl said she thinks her show is only sexy when it has to be. "Unless it's a song that really calls for it, like Skin or S&M, or when I cover [Prince's] Darling Nikki.




There's a section that's called Sex in the show, which is the obvious section for sexuality," she said of getting frisky during her act.




Not only did Rihanna address her sexiness, but she also opened up about her former boyfriend, Chris Brown, saying she has moved on from the 2009 assault and is now, actually, a fan of his music.




"It was too much anger. I'm really excited to see the breakthrough he's had in his career," she explained.




"It's incredible to see how he pulled out the way he did. Even when the world seemed like it was against him, you know? I really like the music he's putting out. I'm a fan of his stuff. I've always been a fan. I would never wish anything horrible for him. Never. I never have."

Survey Says: Katy Perry Hotter Than Rihanna

Billion $$$ Girl: Tamara Ecclestone rolls around naked in a bed full of £1million - that she just happened to have lying around!

While most of us mere mortals barely know what a £50 note feels like, Tamara Ecclestone lies naked surrounded by oodles of them.

The model stripped off to pose for iconic photographer Tyler Shields in a series of snaps that ooze filthy rich.

As well as writhing around on a bed laden with £1million, the 27-year-old also alludes to her own wealth by pretending to iron the wad of cash - even though she's probably never ironed in her life.

n another scene at her £50million London mansion, she pretends to fry an egg while a pair of expensive Christian Louboutin heels decorate the kitchen surface.



She later steps out on to the streets of London while wearing her designer footwear, sweeping the pavements in the middle of the night while dressed up to the nines.

Sheilds' agent told The Sun: 'Tyler asked if she could get hold of £1million and she said she already had it lying around. So he got her to lie in it naked.'



Tamara posed for the provocative shoot to coincide with the launch of her new reality series Billion $$$ Girl, which will air on Channel 5.



She hopes the programme will show the 'real her', rather than the public's perception of her just being the daughter of Formula One CEO Bernie Ecclestone.

Meanwhile, in an interview this week Tamara detailed her extravagant lifestyle, which involves three weekly hair appointments, a holiday every month and getting her dogs groomed at Harrods Pet Spa.



She told Grazia her mother Slavica was horrified by her spending on clothes, shoes and handbags.

She said: 'My mum is always having a go at me about my spending - when she sees all the clothes in my dressing room she tells me I have mental problems.

But I can't pretend this isn't my life. OK, I feel bad about it sometimes, but it doesn't make me a horrible person.

'I'm not going to lie and say I don't love clothes and bags. Actually I do a lot of charity work and give loads of my clothes, shoes and bag away.'

She does admit that she stormed out of a Los Angeles restaurant where she was due to dine with younger sister Petra recently.

She revealed: 'Yes, I did storm out. But it was because I'd come with a group of friends and there weren't seats and I just thought it was rude so we left. Petra and I row, but she's also my closest friend.'

She said: 'I enjoyed shooting with Tyler as he is so creative and this shoot was so different to anything I have ever done.

'In my new TV show I am trying to come across as Tamara, rather than Bernie's daughter, and I believe the shoot with Tyler will make me be seen in that way.'

Shields is the hottest photographer across the Atlantic at the moment, having shot Lindsay Lohan, Heather Morris from Glee and Mischa Barton.

Demi Moore - Demi Moore Looks 'Gaunt And Pale' At Margin Call Premiere

Demi Moore appeared "gaunt and pale looking" at the red carpet premiere of her new movie Margin Call on Monday evening (17th October 2011). Wearing a luxurious red dress, the 48-year-old failed to detract attention from her skinny frame while posing with stars Kevin Spacey and Paul Battany, reports the UK's Sun newspaper.


The Hollywood star's marriage to Ashton Kutcher has been rocked after 22-year-old Sara Leal claimed she slept with the Two and a Half Men star in his hotel suite in San Diego. The actress has rarely been spotted in


public since speculation began, but appears to have shed "a dramatic number of pounds" in the past few weeks. Earlier this month, the couple were spotted on a camping trip together in Santa Barbara, California,





and were later photographed leaving the Kabbalah centre in Los Angeles. It was claimed the 'Ghost' actress, who was previously married to Bruce Willis, took legal advice last Friday about ending her marriage and splitting the couple's reported $200 million fortune.


Despite the furore, Moore was all smiles at the Margin




Call premiere in New York this week. The movie takes place over a 24-hour period at a large investment bank, loosely based on Lehman Brothers, and specifically focuses on a group of employees and their behaviour during the recent financial crisis.
