An army of three million online fans can, it seems, do wonders for your ego.
When Demi Moore photographed herself in the mirror looking stunning in a skimpy bikini, the temptation to share was too much to resist.
She posted her bathroom self-portraits on Twitter for all to see - not the sort of behaviour one would expect for a woman of 47, but perhaps excusable when you take a look at the results.
She appears in better shape than she did in her 30s, when she was famously caught displaying cellulite while jogging along a beach in Florida.
But online, where a mobile phone lets you become your own photographer, looking your best seems considerably easier.
Mother-of-three Miss Moore has been working hard on her health in recent months, undertaking a strict detox plan with 32-year-old husband Ashton Kutcher.
 |  They have spoken about their Master Cleanse diet, which involves consuming only a concoction of water, lemon, maple syrup and cayenne pepper for ten days. Fans of the detox plan, who include Gwyneth Paltrow and Beyonce Knowles, claim it eliminates toxins from the body and helps stop cravings. However, critics say it may be bad for your health and deprives the body of energy, providing 600 calories daily - a third of the recommended amount. Aside from her diet plans Moore, is alleged to have had £200,000 worth of plastic surgery to keep her looking trim. |
She disputes the sum but has in the past admitted an 'extreme obsession' with her body shape.
She said: 'The irony is that when I abandoned that desire to dominate my body, it became the body that I'd always wanted.'
At least the former Indecent Proposal star can poke fun at herself at the same time as revealing her assets and dietary secrets online.
She shared an image of herself looking less than her usual glamorous the day before on her Twitter page, subtitled with just one word: "What!!?!?!"
One thing's for sure though, her husband Ashton Kutcher, 32, loves her whatever.
He looked on proudly as Demi invaded the stage at a Snoop Dogg gig they attended in Las Vegas at the weekend to bump and grind with the rap star.
The pair were taking a break from filming - though not from Tweeting.
Demi is currently shooting LOL: Laughing Out Loud, which she stars in alongside Miley Cyrus and Ashley Green.
She's also just finished filming financial thriller Margin Call alongside Kevin Spacey and Paul Bettany, while Kutcher has just been seen starring in action comedy Killers with Katherine Heigl.
