Since her house arrest ended last month after 35 days, Lindsay Lohan has certainly been making the most of her freedom, pictured at various Hollywood nightclubs in recent weeks.
But the 25-year-old star opted for one of the biggest events of the year, namely Kim Kardashian's wedding, to make her official red-carpet comeback on the Los Angeles social scene.
Lohan teamed the Temperley gown - first seen on Pippa Middleton - with a chic up 'do, sky-high heels and diamond jewellery. Pippa wore an emerald green version of the dress to the evening party after Prince William's marriage to her sister Kate.
The Mean Girls star, who had attended Kim's bridal shower earlier this month, was accompanied by her mother Dina and sister Ali - who are all close family friends of the Kardashians.
But while Lohan succeeded in looking stylish and elegant at the start of the evening, it was a different story when it was time for guests to leave.
The actress, whose platinum blonde hair complemented her white dress, struggled to keep her eyes open as she was driven home by her chauffeur at the end of the evening.
Alongside her new-found party pals, former Spice Girls star Mel B and her husband Stephen Belafonte, Lohan closed her eyes and tried to block out the noise from the back of the car, where Mel was sitting with Dina and Ali.
Lohan had earlier tweeted: 'Getting my "hair did" for my friends big wedding today,can't wait.
'I know i'm gonna cry of happiness for her,yippee!!'
Lohan had arrived for the nuptials in Santa Barbara, California, early on Saturday morning after waiting for her mother to arrive on a flight from New York City.
Meanwhile, Kim's younger sister Khloe Kardashian had changed into a more low-key outfit as she left the celebrations.
Khloe chatted on the phone as she sat in the back seat of the car, with her half sister Kendall Jenner wearing a white hooded top in the front seat.
Demi Lovato drove herself away from the party, looking relaxed and happy in a black coat.
She joined hundreds of guests including Ryan Seacrest, Eva Longoria, Venus and Serena Williams and Avril Lavigne to party the night away in the Montecito reception.
When asked by a fan how the wedding was, Seacrest responded on his Twitter page:
'Beautiful..Kim looked regal, a perfect night.I just danced w the whole family.'
However E! Online reports that authorities starting receiving complaints about the noise, which led the city fire marshal to pull the plug on the festivities shortly after midnight.
But, according to the website, a small group of family and friends stayed to continue the celebration, although most had left by 1.30am.
